The first quarter of the year has passed us by. Report Cards went home today. Please make sure to sign the envelope and send it back into school. Book orders also went home this week. If you would like to order books for Christmas, scholastic has pretty good prices. There are tons to order online as well! Our class code is MHMKV.
The students finished their Native American projects and presented to the class. We will be having 2nd and 3rd grade classes coming to visit our room to view these projects on Monday. They worked so hard and learned some really interesting facts! They were even able to take part in building an actual Native American structure with our artist, Mark. They worked hard bending poles, tying string and working as a team. The school will be able to enjoy these structures for years to come!
We also survived Camp Day! There were many scary stories and smores to be had! Some how we were able to get everything packed up and back in order by the end of the day. I do miss those comfy sleeping bags... We even got to support a fellow classmate who presented in community meeting! Laila is collecting change to donate to the Red Cross to help with the relief effort in Puerto Rico. Any pocket change you can donate would be appreciated!
Next week will be a short week. On Wednesday, the students are dismissed at noon. We will be playing Native American games, disguising turkeys with our reading buddies and lots of other fun stuff!
