The Dreaming Dragons had new seats as they started their second month of third grade. Each month they will get new seats so they can learn about different classmates. It also doesn't hurt to get a different view every once in a while!
We finished up our communities unit this week. That means it was finally time to start science! We started learning about different forces. We watched a watermelon explode with the force of (a lot) of elastic bands. Then we put all the knowledge we gained about force to work. We created hopper poppers and tested them to see how high they could go with just the force of one rubber band. Then we changed our design to make it go even higher. One hopper popper even hit the ceiling!
We finished the week out with a bang! We got to participated in the Cardboard Challenge in the library. It went by way too fast, so you may have a few requests to build with cardboard at home. It was a cardboard wonder land down there! There were boats, pinball machines, houses, dollhouses! Check out some of the pictures below!
Just a reminder, 2 weeks until Michaelmas! Hopefully you are gathering materials and starting to build. If you need any ideas, please drop me an email. I am here to help.
