Important Information about Push-Outs
When will assignments be posted?
Assignments will be pushed out daily at 7am with the exception of the two-day remote part of the week. So for Cohort A, on Thursday they will have access to Thursday and Friday's assignments. For Cohort B, on Friday they will have access to Friday and Monday's assignments. This is done in an effort to offer some flexibility for families. Occasionally there will be an assignment posted AFTER the Friday Zoom. If we talk about a topic that has a specific assignment attached to it, that assignment will be available right after the Zoom.
When are assignments due?
The idea is to treat the remote assignments like a normal school day and they should be completed by the end of the day. If assignments are not completed by the end of the following day, I need to go in and alter your child's attendance. The one exception is the two-day stretch, you can complete assignments early or work on the entire to-do list on the second day. If anything comes up, please reach out and we'll work together to figure out anything that comes up.
Is this the schedule for the rest of the year?
There may (definitely) be a few changes or tweaks week to week so the assignments can be purposeful and match what we are learning in the classroom. We are still figuring out how to teach remotely to the best of our ability, and with that - changes may occur. Any major changes will come with communication and an explanation from myself.
What happens if my child is sick or quarantined?
This is currently being treated just like any other sicktime. Reaching out to me to let me know is super helpful, it gives me more time to prepare as much as I can. They aren't moved into the remote classroom. That system wouldn't be sustainable in the long run. Instead, just like if they were sick any other year, I will prepare a packet with the most important pieces for your child to learn. However, since this is a year like no other, it may take me a few days to get the make-up work to you. I'll be in communication with any family that needs this type of support and we'll work out the details together.
