It was lovely meeting most of you in June! I cannot believe it is already almost time for school. I hope you had a fantastic break! Hopefully it didn’t go by too fast.
Here is some information to get you ready for next year in third grade. I will have most of the things you will need this year waiting on your desk. Come September, you will have colored pencils, pencils, folders, a whiteboard, one whiteboard marker as well as other school necessities in the classroom.
I recommend getting the following items by the second week of school:
- 1 Sturdy Homework Folder – Goes back and forth each day
- 4-Pack of Expo Thin Black Markers – The other brands and colors can leave stains
- 1 Notebook – Any design you like! Try to make it sturdy
- 1 Pencil Case – Not too big, it has to fit in your desk with your books
- 4 Correcting Pens - Any color, quick drying
Some other optional things that might be helpful to get us through the year as a class:
Soft Tissues Plastic Spoons / Forks Clorox Wipes Hand Sanitizer Extra Expo Thin Whiteboard Marks
Extra Class Pencils Paper Plates Select a Size Paper Towels
I am looking forward to all the fun projects and activities we are going to do together this year! We will be starting the year off with the Michaelmas Fair in October. Have you started to think of what you will do for your crafts? We can brain storm some ideas together in September! We will also be visiting a Native American museum this fall. And in the spring we have even more planned, such as famous people projects and a whale watch! I’ve also been looking up some cool technology to try out this school year.
Don’t forget to fill up those brown bags with items you want to share. We will be sharing them during the first few days of school as we get to know each other a little better. The more creative the objects in the bag, the more fun it is for the audience! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
See you soon!
Your teacher, Mrs. Mitchell
