Hello!
My name is Kristen Mitchell and this will be my 9th year teaching here in New Boston (but my 10th year of being a classroom teacher!). I live in town with my husband, Sean, four and a half year old daughter, Anna, and two and a half year old son, Christopher. I love being outdoors, so I often can be found hiking, camping, or swimming in lakes over the summer months and snowboarding in the winter months. I am also a huge hockey fan! I love the Boston Bruins and grew up in a big hockey family.
I've wanted to be a teacher since I was in third grade. My path to get where I am today started at UNH where I got my Masters in Elementary Education. I began my career as a para in Salem and was quickly promoted to a Title I reading teacher a month into that very same year. The following year, in 2012, I got my first job as a 2nd grade teacher in Brookline, NH. Sadly, they had to reduce the number of classrooms after my first year, so I was let go. Luckily, I joined NBCS and haven't looked back since! Over the years at New Boston Central School I have taught third and second grade. New Boston is just such a wonderful community, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it.
