We started our school wide theme of kindness! The students have been working on lots of ways to be kind to each other. They earn hearts when they are caught doing a kind deed. We've had students opening doors, helping friends, and much more! Students even painted kindness rocks with Ms. Brown today during their 2nd Step lesson.
We are also fully into our science unit. We are questioning and hypothesizing all the different ways water can change our world. They complete activities to discover where sand came from as well as where rivers start. What will we investigate next week??
We are finishing up our math unit this week and will be taking our assessment on Tuesday of next week. We also wrapped up our informational writing project. The students are working on using the skills they learned to write a story completely by themselves. They have been learning so many new skills with the computers as they work on all of these pieces.
Tuesday - Family Math Night! 6-7PM in the gym
Thursday - Down Syndrome Awareness Day! Wear crazy socks to show support. We are more alike than different <3
Friday - PTA Father Daughter Dance
After our first snowday of the year, we fit a lot into our week! We did a lot of reading this week. We visited the bookfair on Wednesday and participated in a half hour of quiet reading in the library for the Read-A-Thon today! The students did fantastic, some even reading an entire book in that thirty minute block.
We worked through many glitches on our computers to (mostly) finish our informational writing project. We will be printing out the last of our papers next week. We've also started a new science unit about how much the water can change our planet.
Tonight! - PTA Movie
