It was a busy week for us this week. We wrapped up our first unit in Math. Next month we will start to talk about how I do fact practice for students. Students are expected to be fluent with their multiplication facts before the end of the year in third grade. The sooner they have "fact power" the easier our math curriculum will become for them. Don't worry - I will walk you through expectations and ways to practice. More coming soon! We also finished our letters for all fifty states. The students were super flexible using Word for the first time this year. They accessed their network folders and even learned to print to a specific printer in the building. You may see creative stories coming home. The students know they have to have permission from me in order to print these stories. We talked about using resources wisely. There is a difference between creating a story and printing it and writing one silly sentence and printing it. I am beyond impressed with their technology skills, from Blooket to Word, these kids have a lot of background knowledge! That's it for now! Have a great extended weekend! Upcoming Events: 📅 Friday, October 15th - Michaelmas! (2 weeks away) A Look Ahead: ⚖️ In math, we are going to start Unit 2 and looking closely at estimating and adding without a number grid 💡 In reading, we are going to look at some famous American Landmarks - have you traveled anywhere important in our country? 🌇 In social studies, we are mailing our letters and starting a science unit!
