I cannot thank the families of New Boston enough! $20,000+ for our school raised through the Boosterthon. It was such a blast completing our Fun Glow Run today. Let me tell you, your children sure know how to run! They ran anywhere from 45 to 100+ laps during our 30 minutes in the gym. We had some nice discussions about some great qualities like humility and practice. So, again, thank you for the support!
We have been working hard learning the different types of communities. The fan favorite for studying communities was using Blooket! They were very willing guinea pigs for a new review website. You may have heard of defending towers or dance parties - but I promise there was lots of learning going on as well! We will wrap up this topic next week with a virtual field trip (hopefully!) and a quick quiz. What's next? Perhaps... some science? In reading, we did our first "cold-read" practice test. We worked on strategies to tackle tests. Reading questions beforehand and crossing out answers you know aren't correct are a good start. We also wrapped up our AimsWeb testing! They worked so hard and earned every piece of gum it took to get them through it. That information is so helpful for me to make groups and support your students. Upcoming Events: 📅 Friday, October 1st - NO SCHOOL: Teacher Workshop Day A Look Ahead: ⚖️ In math, we are going to introduce weight and take our Unit 1 Assessment 💡 In reading, we're going to hear about some interesting inventions! 🌇 In social studies, we are going to finish up communities
