We have officially wrapped up our states and capitals. We had four students complete at least 25 states and all 50 capitals! They worked so hard on their presentations. Thank you to all the families who allowed time to practice at home. Many students were able to look away from the board while presenting. All students spoke clearly so the audience could learn from them. On Monday, other classes will visit to see our hard work! I know some parents will be disappointed to know, but that is the last Glogster project of the year. Next term, we will be studying famous Americans, but we will not create anything on a Glogster. We will be moving on to opinion writing starting next week!
In math, we will be wrapping up our area and perimeter unit. This unit pushed a lot of students with new skills. Looking ahead, we will be jumping into fractions! These new skills aren't expected to be completely mastered after the first lesson. However, if homework is ever particularly tricky, please write me a note. If the homework comes back perfect, I have no idea there may have been tears involved. They are never punished for needing an extra checkin on skills. We are also continuing multiplication. The more practce they get at home, the more successful they will be in the classroom. If you need ideas, don't hesitate to reach out. Mrs. Mitchell
