Thank you military families! Want to add your dog tags to the gallary? Email me! It's not too late! Today is the last school day to work on your famous American projects. However, I won't grade them until after presentations. If you'd like to do a small crank up project over the weekend, go for it! Just remember to take a picture and add it to the end of your project. Also I sent out an email with info for an optional Zoom to show of their work. Can't make that but still want to show off your work? Email Mrs. Mitchell and we'll see if we can come up with something! Looking to next week, I'd like to try the recommended weekly/chunked push out of assignments. These are my ideas for push-outs next week: Math - Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday/Thursday/Friday chunk releases Reading - Weekly Science/Social Studies - Weekly Spelling - Weekly Creative Connections - Daily Live Chat Reminders - Daily (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) I want to keep the creative connections daily because they are optional, and it gives the students ONE place to talk for the day. I also want to keep the live chat reminders only on the days that they are offered so it doesn't become confusing. I appreciate the flexibility as we try this new model. I would also like feedback after we work through this for a week if you have just a few minutes. I will email a super quick survey on Thursday and would appreciate any information. I am doing this in hopes that it helps families, so if it doesn't, I need to know so I can go back to daily. Or if it does, I need to know, so we can continue that style of push-outs for the rest of the year. thing I want you to look at and provide feedback on with the Thursday survey is the optional assignments. A few previously required, meant to be fun assignments will be optional (Scholastic News, podcast). Is that too many assignments? Are you able to ignore the OPTIONAL if you don't want do them? Would you rather the optional work was in an enrichment class so it was more organized and won't clutter science and social studies? Would you rather it was only posted on the daily webpage? Do you like it how it is, knowing you only have to do it if you'd like and can ignore it otherwise? This is a sneak peek of what it will look like in your child's to-do: Thanks for your flexibility in trying this new style next week. Just trying to support all families the best I can!
