Even after a week off, he Terrific Turtles jumped right back into learning without any bumps! We started our unit on forces this week in science. We learned that force is just a series of pushes and pulls acting against each other. So far we've created hopper poppers and experimented with how we can change them to create more force and make them hop higher. We also tried to balance our forces so there would be no movement. We put our ideas to the test when we engineered some paper bridges. You read that right, bridges made out of paper only. We will continue to try a few more designs on Monday. We just celebrated our Read-A-Thon on Thursday. It was a great success! The Book Fair is visiting the school next week! Thanks to all the hard work at the beginning of the year for Michaelmas, every student has $7 to spend on a book (or books) at the book fair. We will preview the books on Monday and students will have a chance to shop during school hours on Thursday. I took a look on Friday, there are tons of good reads! It will be hard to pick. :) We also have our Curriculum Night on Thursday! The Father Daughter dance sponsored by the PTA is the following week on Friday. So much going on at our amazing school this month. Check out below for more information. The second term is coming to an end next week. Be on the lookout for report cards in a few weeks. As the weather starts to warm and we inch closer and closer to summer don't forget to take time read and practice multiplication facts at home. Also, I have updated the website to include information on the upcoming State Testing. More information will be coming on that as we get closer to the testing date.
Have a great weekend! Kristen Upcoming Dates: Monday - Book fair preview Tuesday - NO SCHOOL - Voting Day Thursday - Book fair shopping ($7 to each students) Friday - Grades close for Term 2
